Collin Nutt – President (2016-2017)
My name is Collin Nutt and I now work fulltime with NewDay USA in Fulton, Maryland. I am from Fayette City, Pennsylvania, which is a small town approximately an hour southwest of Pittsburgh. Last year, I was PMA’s President. Outside of PMA, I was a member of the Real Estate Society and enjoy playing guitar and singing. Until last year, I was the front man for the band, Fayettenam, which I founded in high school. I interned with Merrill Lynch’s Duckworth Group in Pittsburgh as a Global Wealth and Investment Management intern. I have always felt that becoming a part of PMA was a great decision and I am honored to serve as this year’s President. Our team will be promoting professionalism, confidence, and networking beyond expectations to ensure that our members have an incredibly meaningful experience.
Derek Meyers – Vice President of Philanthropy
My name is Derek Meyers and I am a senior management major. I am also pursuing a minor in supply chain management and information systems technology. I am from Ronkonkoma, New York, which is located on Long Island. I was the Vice President of Philanthropic and Servant Leadership for PMA from 2016-2017. Two years ago, I was the Special Events and Servant Chair. I am an active member of the Penn State Croquet Club and THON’s Operations committee. Sports are a big passion of mine, especially baseball and rooting for the New York Yankees. Some things that I like to do include playing my drum set, making people laugh, and solving Sudoku puzzles.
Alan Chen – Vice President of Social Leadership
My name is Alan Chen. I am a management major with a minor in supply chain and information sciences and technology. I transitioned from the Abington campus, making my time at University Park a short but unforgettable two years. PMA played a huge role in my college life, from the first week I stepped foot in Smeal. PMA will continue to play a huge role until my last week and beyond. I joke that if you ever see me alone something must be wrong, because I am never usually by myself. My former position within PMA requires me to interact with everyone, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
Alyssa Bielski – Director of Advertising
My name is Alyssa Bielski and I am a senior who studied psychology and advertising. I am from Kulpmont, Pennsylvania, which is a small town in the heart of “the coal region”. This was my first year serving as PMA’s Director of Advertising. My previous experience includes creating advertisements and recruiting for Penn State’s calling center, Lion Line. In my not-so-free time, I enjoy yoga, baking, crafting, film, and macro photography. In the future, I either hope to attend graduate school to obtain my doctorate of cognitive psychology, or to become a creative advertiser. While they might seem like polar opposites, the professional skills that I have gained through PMA can be applied to both careers. The skills taught through PMA are versatile to almost any major, which really made PMA stand out to me. It has given me the knowledge and confidence to know that I can succeed on any path I choose.
